With the intention of strengthening cyber security awareness and practices amongst the departments of the government, the ministry of IT and electronics has rolled out the initiative of Cyber Surakshit Bharat in involvement with the IT industry behemoths. A target of the proposal is to increase consciousness related to cybercrime and building ability for security actions for CISOs (Chief Information Security Officers) and vanguard IT staff all over the departments of government.
The founding associates of the group are leading IT firms such as Intel, Microsoft, Redhat, Wipro, and Dimension Data for the proposal that is the first public-private joint venture of its type. Organizations such as NIC, Cert-In, the FIDO Alliance, CISCO, and NASSCOM, and consultancy companies such as EY & Deloitte are knowledge associates for the initiative of Cyber Surakshit Bharat.
“The administration has rolled out the Cyber Surakshit Bharat, with a main motive to keep our information protected and safe. The best minds in both the corporate sector and the government must join hands to make sure a secure and a safe cyberspace. I am pleased that today we have CISOs in most organizations, we have them in as many as 60 departments and ministries of the Indian Government; 45 other financial institutions and 230 banks have CISOs to defend their systems and data. We should not forget that there is a group of smart people out there who are attempting to take away our information, and to outmaneuver them we all have to join hands towards building a healthy cyber safety system that keeps all these private data safe,” claimed Shri. Alphons, Honorable Minister of State for Electronics & Information Technology and Tourism (Independent Charge), to the media in an interview this week.
